Violin Girl
One of the Powell St. Station All-Stars. I was pretty happy with the way this one turned out. She's got a great look of concentration on her face, and the bow is extended away from her body. Check out the advertisement behind her -- there be ghostly reflections, matey! Arr! |
Dude With Squeezebox
Another Powell St. All-Star. This guy was a real piece of work; first, he insists that taking pictures of him will cost me ten bucks, then he starts turning his body back and forth to prevent me from getting a good shot! I humbly suggest that, considering the guy had a sign in front of him about Jesus Christ, this was not exactly Christ-like behavior. |

The Ancient Violin
Another Powell St. All-Star. He was playing some ancient Chinese violin. I am not sure if it was in tune or not. |
The chinchilla cometh
This is my sister's adorable pet chinchilla. He is a rather skittish fellow. Loves raisins.

He Bee Dead
A warning to all bees, wasps and stinging-type insects: If I find you in my apartment, not only will I zap you with a big-ass cloud of Raid, I will take silly photos of you and post them on the Internet. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! (This photo, by the way, was the first photo I ever took with my C-700 in which I explored how to manually set the shutter speed, the aperture, etc. I've owned the camera for a couple of years, but I always let the camera make those decisions for me -- it did a good job, after all. But it was having trouble focusing on such a tiny insect, so I had to experiment a little bit.) |
"EXMEPT" from correct spelling
I saw this sign right outside of the post office. Fortunately, the word "EXEMPT" is spelled correctly on the other side -- I'd hate to think that they had two tries at the word and failed both times.
