Fireworks 2004
I went out to take pictures of fireworks on the Fourth of July again. I even went to the same spot, hoping it would be as productive as before. But for various reasons, my head wasn't in the game. This one turned out OK, though. |

I hate it when I get thristy
I can't say this is the finest moment in the history of Merriam-Webster. |

Sunset in Kansas City
I took this from a motel in Kansas City during my drive across the country in November of 2005. Before I set out from California, I thought I would wind up taking a lot of photos, but I didn't. In most cases, it was just too cold to get out of the car. |
A pleasant day off
I was strolling along the San Francisco pier on Labor Day when I noticed this horn player. |

My last night in the Bay Area
I was pleased to run across one last street musician to photograph. This was taken in the Civic Center stop. She's playing a viola. |
One-man band
I was working in Berkeley temporarily when I took this photo. |

Hello, Mr. Squirrel!
This was a very cooperative squirrel. He sat fairly still in that tree for a nice, long stretch while I snapped several shots. I like the way the light filters through his tail. This shot is the first one on the site that I took with my new Canon. |
An eight-legged visitor
I noticed this spider hanging by a thread in the middle of my room. Although it looks like it was dark, it was actually in the middle of the day. I lined up the shot so that my black guitar case would be in the background to get the best contrast with the spider's light-colored body. Then I killed the spider. |

A fragile bubble
My camera really had a tough time focusing properly for this shot. |
